In the Year of the Rabbit, I Photographed the Rabbit Mountain

GANZI・SHUANGQIAO VALLEY

5-6 HOURS
2023/04/08

Shuangqiao Valley is one of the three valleys within the Mount Siguniang Scenic Area, alongside Changping Valley and Haizi Valley. While the other two are relatively well-developed, the ease of visiting and the scenery are quite comparable among all three. Spanning over 40 kilometers and encompassing an area of more than 200 square kilometers, it boasts dense vegetation and towering mountains. Upon entry, sightseeing vehicles transport visitors directly to the final stop within the scenic area. From there, visitors can leisurely stroll back or opt to use the sightseeing vehicles, stopping at each station until reaching the entrance.

The first image captures Rabbit Mountain (Jade Rabbit Peak), taken at the initial stop after disembarking—Redwood Forest. Similarly, Image 5 was also taken in the Redwood Forest. This redwood forest spans approximately 2 kilometers in length and covers an area of over 50 square kilometers, forming a unique Sichuan redwood forest plant community. The scenery here primarily features dry woodlands, boardwalks, and snow-capped mountains. Images 3, 4, 6 were taken at the Four Maidens’ Lake station. The serene Tiffany-blue lake water, complemented by the desolate bare trees on its banks, creates a palpable sense of time passing. The last three images showcase the dense poplar groves along the route, characterized by their distinctive growth and monochromatic color scheme, resembling a painting.

The stations for the sightseeing vehicles are as follows: Redwood Forest – Mount Budala – Four Maidens’ Lake – Fish-Chasing Dam (a spot for drift rafting) – Longzhu Cuo – 3360 Café – Ginseng Fruit Plateau.
