Free Art Exhibition Along the Xiangji Temple Riverside on the Weekend

Thank you sincerely to a fellow user on Xiaohongshu whose enthusiastic recommendation led me to the realization of the exceptional quality of exhibitions within the Xiangji Temple Riverside office complex, which had not been fully accessible until last year. Hangzhou’s weather, under the control of the subtropical high-pressure system, presents a picturesque blend of cotton-like clouds against a backdrop of azure skies. Undoubtedly, the phenomenon of global warming is underway.

After a series of coincidental events, I had the pleasure of meeting a Chinese female artist who had participated in the Venice Biennale, an opportunity that expanded my knowledge beyond the previously known male artists showcased at the V&A exhibitions. Her calligraphic works exude spirituality, emphasizing multidimensional space and contemplation through the layering of brushstrokes and the intentional blank spaces within the canvas. While I may not fully comprehend the depth of her art, I venture to express my admiration.

Additionally, two other exhibitions were on display: “Austrian Art – The Present and Dawn of Modernity” and “World Cultural and Natural Heritage in Pictures.” In comparison, these exhibitions were more accessible, presenting tangible and concrete artistic expressions. I particularly enjoyed the vibrant and richly colored paintings that amalgamated realism with abstraction by two contemporary Austrian artists. Furthermore, I was awe-inspired by the magnificence of landscapes – mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas – from various corners of the world, alongside the profound historical and cultural narratives.

Upon concluding the art exhibition visit, I took advantage of the opportunity to capture some aerial views of the surroundings along the ancient canal using a drone. The overall transparency of the glass curtain walls in the architecture beautifully integrated with the surrounding scenery.
