If you’re looking for a spot to catch the canola blooms without the tourist crowds, Zhuantang and Fuyang are your best bets. The fields are at peak bloom right now, and since fewer people know about these spots, the flowers haven’t been trampled over.
Where to Find the Best Spots in Zhuantang
You don’t have to hike far to find them. Here are the specific locations:
· Near Tongjian Lake: Take Bus 539 or 594 and get off at Renqiao Station.
· Around Shuangpu Metro Station: Right at the intersection of Xiatong Street and Kehai South Road.
· Around Xiaming Street Metro Exit: Step out of the station and wander a bit, you’ll see scattered fields of bright yellow canola blossoms.
· In front of the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (Zhijiang Campus): Directly opposite the hospital, there are open fields that turn completely golden in spring.
· Opposite Zhejiang Petroleum Gas Station (Kehai Road Comprehensive Station): Another easy‑to‑reach spot, right across from the station, with wide canola plots.
· Jiushu Di – Building 28 (southeast of Dingshanpu Bridge)
· China Academy of Art, Xiangshan Campus: Around the campus area you can find canola fields mixed with architecture, perfect if you like to have some designy buildings in your photos.
· Intersection of Yunhe Street and Kehai Road
Canola flower fields in Fuyang
Fuyang offers a more rustic backdrop for your photos. The area around the Qingjiang Village Committee is blanketed in yellow, as is the area near the Xintong Village People’s Congress Liaison Station. If you are looking for that classic aesthetic of bright blossoms against traditional stone walls and grey-tiled roofs, the canola fields in Dongziguan Village are an absolute must-visit.
Outfit Tips for Canola Blossom Photos:
Beige, white and light blue are all great color choices. Think about the scene around you: green stems, bright yellow flowers, a sky that’s streaked with blue and white.
White and beige won’t clash with the background and naturally echo the white clouds overhead. Light blue pairs beautifully with soft yellow as a gentle contrast, while also picking up the color of the sky. Put together, the whole look feels fresh, airy and very “spring in the canola fields”.
Food and Coffee Nearby (All Within About a 3 km Drive):
1). BAC Art Community: You can find authentic Hangzhou flavors in the Guanxiangkou, visit the Mo’lv Art Space, grab a drink at Shanye Coffee, or try the Michelin-rated Fuxing Mianwang for local noodles.
2). Zhijiang Intime Mall:
You have choices like Sanbu Ti Chongqing Hotpot, Pinhuiwei for Northwest and Xinjiang cuisine, or familiar favorites like HeyTea and Haidilao.
3). Alternatively, Xitou Intime offers Minshangxian for Fujian dishes, the popular Xita Laotaitai BBQ, Chama Jianghu for Sichuan spice, and cozy hotpot spots like Mr. Buwanneng or Coucou.
